Love your list, mostly because it's evocative of New England. By the way, Blondie's Journal ... my best friend in grade school lives in Ipswich and it's a special place, for sure! Are there new restaurants in Boston and near you, you intend to try, Elaine? I had lunch in Pittsburgh, in the new Union Standard - terrific restaurant. It's in a stunning old building, built by Henry Clay Frick at the turn of the century - an investment group sunk millions and millions into renovations. I had a lovely scallop appetizer with thin carrots and radishes and pea shoots; chicken pot pie with lovely mushrooms and fresh peas, topped with a puffed pastry cap; and a chocolate Dutch Baby, with caramel ice cream. Yep - that good. Enjoy working on your bucket list. As soon as I saw your posting, I was excited to see the new list of yours!

Hi Elaine! I will thoroughly enjoy visiting my dear New England home through you this summer since I can't get there! But we will be having some wonderful creative time working on our book. I'm the author, Gene is illustrating. We've been through some unexpected "adventures" with auto accidents, but thankfully not injured. Just the car and financial setback. Ugh! But we'll get through it, and enjoy escaping to our writing during the hot months. We'll have some picnics in the park and small things like that as breaks! It will be fun!! Have a wonderful time on all your excursions. I'll be following with great interest!!

I always enjoy reading your seasonal bucket lists and have gotten some new to me ideas from them - thanks! Have you ever been to Mill No. 5 in Lowell, MA? Check it out - a good rainy summer day activity (only open Thurs. - Sun. I think). My summer bucket list includes a Tall Ship boat tour, immediately followed by a boat trip out to the Boston Harbor Islands (I've lived here for 33 years and have never been to the Boston Harbor Islands!). Also, strawberry picking, local outdoor concerts, floating in the pool, reading LOTS of books, toasting marshmallows and eating lots of ice cream. :) Looking forward to hearing about your summer bucket list adventures!
